Rick Moran has been producing fine tables and mirrors for over 30 years and his only employee, Scott Harvey has been assisting for several years. Not only do they use an assortment of power saws, drills, planers, and sanders, but also a wide collection of hand tools such as hand planes, spoke shaves, chisels, scrapers, mallets, and hand saws. Each piece of furniture is signed by Rick and Scott with pride assuring fine craftsmanship.

Rick hand selects furniture grade cherry and maple wood for their color, grain pattern, figure intensity, and other characteristics that make each piece "special". MWW employs traditional construction techniques including mortise and tenon, floating tops, and dovetail joinery. This relates to the fine craftsmanship and ensures longevity. Several coats of top grade tung oil is applied as a sealer, thus creating a smooth finish.

Through the years, Rick has become influenced by the Shakers for their furniture credibility and timeless designs. The elegance of a shaker style, with clean and simple lines, permit a wide spectrum of decor compatability.

Directions to Moran Woodworks Lower Gallery at West Barnstable Tables:
Once you have crossed the Cape Cod Canal, take route 6 east (heading towards Provincetown) to exit #5. Take a left at the end of the ramp and head north onto route #149. West Barnstable Tables will be 3/4 mile down on the right. If you cross the RR tracks, you have gone a few thousand feet too far.
