Furniture Care Instructions
Our tables and mirrors have numerous coats of a hand rubbed Tung Oil finish. To maintain the beauty of this finish, it is recommended that the furniture should be oiled once a year using a penetrating furniture oil such as Min Wax Tung oil finish, Boiled Linseed oil, Teak oil, or any other quality furniture oil.

Essentially the oil process is wipe on and wipe off. Simply apply a generous amount of oil to the piece of furniture using a clean 100% cotton cloth. Do a small section at a time and dry immediately using another cotton cloth. If you wait too long to wipe the oil off, the finish may become sticky, in which case, apply another coat of oil and wipe dry immediately.

Pieces may also be dusted regularly using furniture polishes free of silicones.

If you develop some scratches or water rings in your furniture, they can simply be removed by rubbing (in the direction of the wood grain) with fine (0000) steel wool dipped in a paste wax and buffed out with a clean cloth. For deeper scratches, use 200 and/or 400 grit sandpaper dipped in oil and then sand with the grain pattern and feather out as you sand and dry with a clean cloth.

Note: Dispose oiled cloths properly as they may become combustible if stored for long periods of time.

By following our recommendations, we trust you and your family will use and treasure our furniture for many years to come. Enjoy!

Cutting Boards:
Multiple coats of a salad bowl oil finish have been applied to the cutting board. Periodically apply to the board, a comparable non-toxic oil finish (such as mineral oil or walnut oil). Do not submerge the board in water or place in a dishwasher. Hand wash with hot water and soap, rinse, dry with a cotton towel and always store the board on long edge or hang.
